The TSA could use him at the airport. :(
The guy is 62 years old and probably has been doing the same thing for 35 - 40 years. Probably in the teachers union and has been in the “pass the trash” program for most of those years.
I think tarring & feathering is a venerable tradition that needs to be revived.

My 10 year old daughter just went camping with him. We have been family friends forever. He is the kindest, most innocent, hardworking man I know. My daughter, who is 10, felt very comfortable with him. I know groups of girls who have banded together to try to get rid of a tough teacher. I am devistated for Jim. He is a truly good man and I still will trust my daughter with him forever.

I dont think Mr. Carter would do such a thing. He was my fifth grade teacher and I still remember that he was a good educator. I know that he would never do such things. Lets see what the court and evidence says if hes guilty of charge or not. MAYBE some groups of girls did try to get rid of the toughest teacher in that grade, which in this case was Mr.Carter
Lets hope thats the situation.

McKyla Munoz, who is going into sixth grade, took two of Carter’s classes last school year. She has heard other kids talking about the allegations.
“I’ve just been hearing people say that he touched them or something,” McKyla said.
But she has never witnessed any inappropriateness and she doubts her favorite science teacher would have hurt her peers.
“My opinion is Mr. Carter was funny, supportive and he’d just try to support you to get good grades. He’s a teacher. That’s what teachers do,” McKyla said. “He didn’t even hug. He’d just give you a high-five, and say, ‘Good job, kid.’”
Nakamura said Carter was not arrested most likely because of plea negotiations that have taken place.
The investigation began when a student told her parent about the alleged abuse and the parent contacted police. Other students then came forward.
Salt Lake City School District spokesman Michael Williams confirmed a teacher was put on administrative leave in April for alleged improper conduct. Williams did not confirm Carter’s identity or any details of the case.

When I was in high school a few years ago, we had a teacher who stabbed a man in her apartment. I’m not sure what happened with the guy she stabbed or the court case (all I know she was convicted), but she was quietly employed by another school in the same school system within 6 months.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
