All the airlines have different boarding rules. It’s hard to keep up. One of them just changed their sequence. They board disabled and then families. It’s a disaster. The kids go running down the jet way endangering the little old ladies with canes. The wheelchairs can’t get out of the jetway because the families have left their strollers and carriers all over the place by the door. The families put their luggage in first (even though they’re in coach) and those in the bulkhead have to put their luggage way in the back. What are they thinking??

Which airline is boarding families right after "those needing extra assistance"? That's bad crazy. I live in Florida and it takes 20 minutes sometimes just to board the elderly and disabled. It is amazing to me that SWA, with open seating, boards more effectively, and in much less time, than the airlines with seating assignments.

Of course, by the time Delta, United and American/USAir board their priority members and elderly, the plane is more than half full. I rarely put a bag under the plane, so I try to avoid carriers where I don't have status. Waiting at baggage claim for what was supposed to be a carry on just sucks.

A long thread from very frequent Southwest fliers regarding this social media insult.

The comment at the end about Natalie Grant slamming a WN GA - and then getting sued for it - may bring some perspective.

I’m torn about this issue. On one hand, the SWA agent is a moron for asking a passenger to delete a Tweet. On the other hand, the passenger cheaped out and didn’t buy priority boarding for his kids. If he’d done this, his kids (who are not toddlers) could have boarded with him. Then he gets humiliated by the agent and Tweeted out everything. STOP TWEETING EVERYTHING YOU DO EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY, PEOPLE!

More than likely. Or one Southwest worker is a jerk.

I’ve had nothing but great service flying Southwest.

You can always just save the seats for when the kids board.
