With no support, I might as well go for an old XP since it won’t be hooked to the web.

I have the same problem, but haven't discovered a source of drivers that will run legacy printer/plotters. There is a wide open opportunity for some enterprising computer programming group. Windows XP was solid.

I have my old printers which will work fine and kept the installation discs.

Nah, the people sticking with XP are too small of a market, and they are shrinking every day. Doesn’t make much economic sense to cater to them.
