I think it also important to point out that this is occurring in the firefox browser -on the Linux OS. The vast majority of malware affects the ‘doze platform, not the various ‘nix or BSD offerings so the “malware” warnings are mostly an irritant rather than a benefit of sorts.

Yes. Well-observed.

Today, Firefox voluntarily uses Google's "Bad Website" list, and with both Chrome and Firefox, getting by this warning is trivial.

Tomorrow, Obama could Executive Order that all browsers use Google's "Bad Website" list, and that getting by the block is impossible.
