"Lights Out!" by David Crawford is a good read.

But my favorite is One Second After, a 2009 fiction novel by American writer William R. Forstchen.

Perfect for your oblivious friends and family, because they won't be able to put it down, and it raises so many moral and ethical decisions, that they have to ask themselves over and over, "What would I do?"

Coworkers have told me they lost sleep thinking about dilemmas presented in the book.

One Second After is scarier.
