I find that self-conscious schlock tends to gratingly defeat its own purpose. I’d rather get my anti-aesthetic jollies re-watching “The Killer Shrews” or maybe one of Larry Buchanan’s grade-Z items from the 1960s.
I’m with you. This stuff is nothing more than “Look at me! See how clever I am? I can’t make a good movie so I’ll make a good BAD movie.”
It’s self-congratulatory failure, a further lowering of the bar, and a celebration of mediocrity.
“Stupid” isn’t the same as “funny.”
If you want to see appallingly — and legitimately — bad cinema, watch “Troll 2” or “Birdemic.” Beyond horrible ...

And I really liked Sharknado. Looking forward to renting “2” from Netflix as soon as they offer it.
A good laugh is really healthful and keeps you happy!
