In you gym class did everyone where swimming suites in the showers? What’s the difference?
I’m just picking on you.
When I first entered the Air Force (mid 80s) you shared a room and used group showers. Even the base gym had open showers.
Shortly before I retired (2010) the base gym had private showers (shower stall with two curtains to create a private changing area).
On my last deployment to Iraq, while in garrison on the base, the showers had a similar set up. Several of us old guys came out to the bench between the rows of stalls and “talked shop” while toweling off and getting dressed.
We didn’t have a lot of time to coordinate activities for missions involving different work centers and missions so it was a follow up after we cussed and discussed over dinner in the chow hall.
The young guys (who hadn’t been in country long enough to stop giving a damn) would hide between their curtains. Us old farts laughed about it.
Due to the crazy crap going on over the last decade a lot of us get a bit suspicious when we hear about adults making young boys group swim naked. It’s a symptom of the times and our modern society.
