God bless this 11-year-old boy and his honors to the men who endured The Longest Day on D-Day plus 70 years [6 June 1944-6 June 2014]. There are still a lot of French that remember those who came to liberate France and have told their children of the bravery they showed the world.
As Major Dick Winters [2nd Bn, 506th PIR, 101st ABD] recounted from one of his trooper's letters: “My grandson asked if grandpa was a hero. I told him that I wasn't but I had the honor to serve in the company of heroes.”
