Saying we're "hardwired" is a useful analogy. It's like the Biblical metaphor that God has "planted eternity in our hearts." He does not literally "plant" (dig a little furrow in your myocadial muscle, put in a seed from the Eternity Seed Packet, etc.)but you get the picture.
He had-wring of the brain is also a workable metaphor. We get the picture.
the only time i know if anything being ‘hardwired’ is when, gasp, someone intelligence does the ‘hardwiring’, duh....
