Best commercial(s) of all time?

Posted on 08/09/2014 7:52:03 PM PDT by MNDude

We all see tens of thousands of commercials in our lifetime, but there's probably a few that really standout... Where's The Beef?, Apple's 1984, Mikey likes Life cereal, etc. What's your favorite commercial(s) of all time.

I had that idea. You beat me to it. Budweiser is awesome all the way. Had some family that worked there. They are a fantastic employer too.

I worked for awhile at a medical center not far from the brewery in St. Louis. Used to love the smell driving by.

Dustin Hoffman for Volkswagen, back in the Fifties/Sixties, before The Graduate.

If Ted Kennedy drove a Volkswagen, he'd have been President

Hoffman has always carried the water for the radical left.

I don’t pay too much attention to the politcis of Hollywood/Broadway - otherwise I’d never see another movie or show.

I too turn a blind eye to the holly-hypesters.

Just as Richard Dreyfuss has suddenly become the darling of neo-conservatives...I wouldn’t give him the time of day.

Yeah but did Alice Cooper ever jam the Screaming Yellow Zonkers’ theme?

Why isn’t it racist to show white people eating fried chicken?

I love chicken (although I don’t do much fried food anymore, I will still eat some fried chicken and fried okra now and then).

” So you think anyone with a Southern accent is black?”

I think you replied to the wrong post.

The best of an earlier, simpler time ( and primitive special effects)..

Let Hertz put you in the driver's seat

” I think the one from 1998 might have been the one with the black girl and family.”

I’ve never seen the ones mentioned in the wikipedia. The one i’m looking for is from the late sixties.

For me there is no trace of it and I wonder if someone deemed it racist and made it disappear.

It may eventually come to that, now that depicting watermelon is deemed racist. The race hustlers are desperate for new avenues.

I grew up in NY, too, so it must have been regional marketing. Both versions of the ad were shown, one with the black girl and one with the white. The black girl version appears to have gone into the PC revisionist memory hole.

“Let me try, boss. I always wanted to fix a transmission.”

And

The sweating guy on the FEDEX commercial.

And the etrade baby.

The one I was referring to definitely was in the 90s. And it didn't seem offensive at all. It showed a cool looking black family having a dinner party. The little girl was adorable with a very cute southern accent.

There was a commercial years ago that was so cute and funny; a fiber laxative commercial that started out, ‘Feeling out of sorts?’ and while the commercial ran it showed a series of animals with painful or funny expressions on their faces.
Can any of you sleuths come up with this one?

Favs:

The Geico ‘hump day’ camel
Herding cats
The Budweiser Christmas commercials

.

I think the laxative was Perdiem.
I found one on Youtube starting out, ‘all God’s creatures get constipated’, featuring an owl and a frog...cute but that’s not the one.
