NASCAR star Tony Stewart hit and killed another driver who was walking on the track in a sprint car race on Saturday night.

The other driver, Kevin Ward Jr., had collided with Stewart on the previous lap, leaving Ward’s car with a flat tire and pushed into the wall. As officials threw a caution, Ward left his car and began walking down the track — gesturing angrily toward Stewart — before being clipped and dragged 50 feet by Stewart’s car.

Several spectators told Bob Pockrass of The Sporting News that Stewart appeared to throttle his car before colliding with Ward.

Bad stuff. Looked like he wanted to scare the crapola out of him and he cut the scare too close.

The guy walks down on the track with a few feet of severa cars who appear to just miss him Stewarts car is running a little higher and hits him. all the cars are running at high speed. All happens quickly. I don’t see where Stewart could be charged.

The guy went from stupid angry to dead in seconds.

Irate 20 year old driver putting himself in a very dangerous situation. 48 year old businessman and professional driver places his vehicle precariously close to an immature, emotional, irate young man. Only one man should have known better, he took a precarious situation and made it deadly. Did he mean to kill the kid? No. Did he try to avoid the situation? No. It sure looks like reckless endangerment with a dose of manslaughter. If this was Mark Martin, the DA would suspect an accident. With Tony’s history, going to get interesting.

The guy walked across the track. What did he think would happen?

On Fox news they showed the driver killed did more than walk on the track, he stepped out in traffic to yell at stewart.

Another driver charged that stewart hit the gas which they know will swing the back out from torque. That’s what hit this young guy.

I watched the video many times and very carefully, the engine revs and the car jerks to the right apparently AFTER he clips the guy, so I am not sure he hit him on purpose.

The guy who ran into a race track full of speeding cars had a death wish. We’re being told he could have been angry. That kind of rage can get you killed. It did in his case. A totally pointless death.

In the video I can’t see or say that Stewart did anything intentional. The other guy sure as hell shouldn’t have been walking out in the middle of traffic. Stewart may have thought he was still in the car because another car just missed the guy prior to him getting hit.

Somebody was doing something they shouldn't have. Was it --

The race car driver driving the race car on the race track?
Or the guy walking across the race track?

It looks like Tony will race today. So much for remorse.

He went after stewart. He got him!

Like taking a knife to a gun fight.

Remorse? He’s got many people depending on him, should he let them suffer for the young man who did something stupid?

Reckless endangerment? For driving on the race track?

The caution was out before the guy left his car. No one else hit him.
