There’s just something about holding a handful of dark, moist, friable, compost-enriched soil in your hands - the weight of it, the internal warmth of the hungry microbes, the aroma - that just makes you feel good.

Owning a piece of dirt from an acre on up can do wonders for your mental state also.

It’s nice to live on a piece of ground and not be packed in with people like sardines in a can. :-)
