What a Sunday I had...I don’t think I’ll be on Mondays thread as I have a pounding migraine. Had a Bridal shower for my sons fiancé. My husband, 2 youngest sons, the bride and groom, my daughter and granddaughter all left our house at the same time to go to local facility we rented. We left w/coolers, presents, etc.
Someone was watching us and decided to kick in our back door. Stole my sons debit card & am amount of cash; took a small music box my wedding/engagement rings; my late mothers engagement rings and a ring my late grandmother wore her entire life (a bloodstone-worthless to anyone but me)...it was given to her as a teen when she left Ireland by her mother. It is all just sentimental “stuff.”
Thankfully, thief was gone by time husband and sons returned but they could have encountered someone crazy enough to break into a house at 10:30 on a Sunday morning. My 17 y/o comes into an empty house days I work. I can honestly say I had my first panic attack in my life.
I didn’t find this out til I got home (not to ruin the Shower). Had to visit our police department and try to describe what was taken. I am stupid, I don’t have photos of items and I took off wedding set because my hands were puffy from food prep.
There’s my story. I need to vent. We all feel so violated.
Be careful, the druggies seeking $ are everywhere. A happy day to life changer in minutes...it could have been deadly worse if they met up w/robber.
Looking at simply safe security system. And then arming up. Don’t know where cash will come from, but need not to feel like sitting ducks.

Some talk radio stuff; I am from Boston area but come here twice a year and am here now. I will give some info from Scott Fybush’s Northeast Radio Watch (subscription required, fybush.com)—right after Frank Iorio’s WJAS 1320 picked up Bloomdaddy, Beck, Rush and Sean from Clear Channel’s WPGB 104.7 (now country) came word that Radio Disney would be selling WDDZ 1250 and some 22 other stations across the nation Would the talk shows go there, to what it probably the second best AM signal in town? Probably not.
I don’t know if Q&R will wind up there but WJAS, while owned by Iorio, is actually operating from the CC studios (and I don’t think JAS has an operational site or Facebook yet—
I started an unofficial Facebook). So CC gets its shows out, on an AM signal but 1250 —if sold to CC—may wind up with Fox Sports (which is now on 540 AM but that will soon switch to Yahoo Sports). Fox Sports is synd. by CC and they may desire to buy WDDZ and place sports there (they already own the 970 running ESPN)...or poss. standards or Catholic or who knows what. If I hear anything about 1250 being sold to someone running conserv talk I’ll let you know, as well as fate of Q&R.

Thanks for the information raccoonradio. Our own prisoner6 works for WJAS and has also been giving us any new information as it becomes available. The signal for WJAS seems to have gotten stronger - intermittently, though more often than not. Of course, I never listened to WJAS before this whole changeover, so that could have been not unusual. Sounds like Q&R are soon to start SOMEWHERE soon.

Mr S and I are always looking online for property up in Potter, Elk, Clinton counties. Just dreaming, for course. Wish we could build a cabin in the woods with a couple of acres. just a place to vacation and maybe more permanent later.

I’m SO sorry to hear this! We were burglarized a few years back and then got a security system—yep—after the horse has left the barn and all that. Our county was a leave your door open kind of place when we moved here and now we are a white minority. I’ve got Hamk Johnson as our Rep. God bless you and keep you safe.

From what I’ve heard CC is up to it’s eyebrows in debt and is in no position to buy 1250 or any other station.
Indeed they are likely going to have to sell some off in order to remain solvent. Meaning Obama’s FCC can put them in a world of hurt by slow-rolling the approvals. Hence the incentive to ditch Quinn.
WJAS weekend programming is absolutely pathetic.

AM talk stations run repeats of Rush and Beck on the weekends.
Well it’s IF i do news. WHJB Greensurg at first. I may end up doing news for several Renda stations in PA. Keep in mind I DO NOT WORK FOR WJAS. We sold that station.
I’ts not my intention to get back into on air work. Too many restrictions.
Also it really isn’t news as you and I think of news. It’s a minute of headlines related to only Greensburg and if it goes to other stations it would include news from Punxy, Indiana, (IIRC) and whatever else we have.
Keep in mind I’m not thrilled about doing it, would be just helping out a friend for a couple of weeks.
Tell you what...if I can find a demo script I did over the weekend I’ll FReepmail it.
Good point...in Boston they did buy a weak FM for $14.5 million and people wondered why. Now they’re running country on it and may do OK, and if anything help out the music FMs they have by dragging down the numbers of the established country station.
