Im fine with people buying booze and pot as long as they dont receive a penny of government assistance. If you submit yourself to weekly drug tests then yes, here are your food stamps if you need them etc.
I draw a good salary as a military officer. All paid for by your taxes. In my 19 year career so far I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve been drug tested. At least 30 times at minimum.
Wanna get stoned? Just do it on your own dime.

I could go along with that but for one thing. If they have dependents, they no longer get to do just what they want. They have to act in the best interest of their dependents too.
