But these aren’t normal circumstances. Brown’s death is being leveraged for political purposes, to achieve political ends in what amounts to a no-huddle/hurry-up offence by the professional grievance industry.
If the cops wait until the “appropriate” time to release information the game will be long over. You can’t sit back and allow a political narrative rooted in “white cop executed black kid” to take hold and grow if it isn’t true.
Does it suck? Yes. But while it may not be the “approprite” thing to do, given the circumstances it may be the least-worst option.
Ok. I can go with that. But just remember: if the police release exculpatory evidence during an ongoing investigation, the lawyer for the family will claim the whole investigation was tainted. Since they are claiming that already, I guess it’s just a no win situation unless something magical happens.
