CLENDENIN, West Virginia - Mark Jasper is a student at Chandler Academy. He has some learning disabilities, and needs a little extra help. He's doing great, however, and the school year has started off just fine. That's why what happened Tuesday afternoon has his family very upset.

Look, I’m as sensitive to people with special needs as most anyone, but this just sounds like whining on the part of a parent.
I don’t get it. What is the problem with his sitting on a bus with others?

Three is a strong sense of entitlement with many in the”special needs” community.

Oh, for heaven’s sake. There was some confusion. It happens. What difference does a “learning disability” make when there’s no learning going on, just sitting?
If the boy had died from a lack of needed medical care during that hour, the parents would have a cause.
He was not the only “special needs” kid left out yesterday. Just the only one who’s parent complained. I don’t know the nature of the other children who have “special needs” but I do know some could have got very sick very quickly if left on a hot bus.
For those of you who don’t remember school buses do not have AC. Yesterday in W.Va the heat was sweltering from the humid conditions. It’s the kind of heat we complain about when parents leave their toddlers/babies in a hot car about. Yet the public school may leave a “special needs” kid much less any kid in a bus in?
Why was the school even running a heater yesterday anyway? Do you have any idea how it it was? That is what makes this story so strange to begin with.
