12 miles away huh?
Towards Black Gnat?
Or out by Big Johns?
Or over the bridge to First Stop Last Stop?
Or out toward the lake?
“Live action!”
As Turtleman would say!
One is in critical condition, the other is fair. Both have been admitted to the hospitals Level 1 burn unit, said KentuckyOne Health spokesperson, David McArthur.
Two other firefighters, Captain Steve Marrs, 37, and Alex Johnson, 28, received electric shocks when they tried to lower the bucket and an electric current traveled down the extended ladder, said Hazlette.
Like everyone else here, I pray that all of those injured have a full recovery. That being said, I can't understand why experienced firefighters would have set up their ladder so close to the power lines for an activity like this. When fighting an actual fire, I'm sure there are times when your options are limited regarding where you can position your equipment, and you have to take a chance. However, it was not necessary for the truck to be that close to the power lines in this situation.
Recently, I watched an “Ice Bucket Challenge” by a Physical Therapy group. Each therapist had his own bucket of ice water to empty on himself at the count of 3. Fun to watch. Watching -— was one of their physical therapy patients -— a man with ALS. They raised a good amount of $$$.
Since the mail deliveries are endless with donation requests from so many foundations, this is a unique way to raise attention to a cause.
Just goes to show that there know better than us.
Idiots.
Someone give em a sign.
lol oh know!
No I don’t think you do know.
But hell no I really don’t know that for sure.
I just heard of it yesterday.
I only heard about it last week and unknowingly may have ended up in the background of one the other day (I also don’t watch ‘tv’).
Stupid if you ask me. Good intentions, but I don’t need a social media gimmick that enriches someone else via clicks to contribute to something I believe in...but that’s just me.
Lets just say I live in a moist county but live closer to Simms than I was to a state liquor store when I lived in Seattle.
But one of my bands practices where we can see the Black Gnat water tower.
Heh, heh. Turtleman is my neighbor’s cousin.
‘Course, my wife and I are about the only ones here that are NOT his cousins. :-P
They have raised a year's worth of donations in just a few weeks. I'm sure every charity wishes they could accomplish that.
