I’ll answer your question with a rhetorical question.
Assuming that a reasonable distance from where you live there is “a bad part of town”, not an unrealistic scenario, if you were to go there while drunk and get into arguments with people, would it be your fault if somebody attacked you?
Granted, just about to walk into a rough bar, and somebody advises you to not go in there, because it has a “rough crowd” who are in a bad mood; but you go in anyway. Would it be your fault?
