Oh, that’s true! I suppose because rural America is so spread out and people drive cars (or pickup trucks), they forget their own awful problems. I have friends in North Carolina and all their children seem to be crack addicts! What that’s about, I have no idea.
I live in the LI burbs. loaded with drugs here. I raised 3 boys in public schools(plus lots of home education as what NOT to believe in public schools)....not a drug taker in the lot. only one who will drink a beer with me. they are grown between ages 23 and 33. when kids I took them Hunting, Fishing and went to their Baseball and Soccer(yuk) games.
when I had to work on my car (I did about 75% of my own repairs even though I was no longer worked as a mechanic and was in the pharmaceutical business) the boys, whether they liked it or not were under the car with me. the lawn needed cutting? once the first one reached 12, he was doing it, and they all had there turn as lawn monitor
the oldest has a masters in mechanical engineering and works in a large engineering firm and as a professor of night classes at a SUNY school... the middle is working in pharmaceuticals and almost has his bachelors....and the youngest is working in pharmaceuticals and I finally got him back in school for at least a 2 year degree...
It doesn't take a village, it takes PARENTING.
Easy to understand...it’s because of all the northerners migrating to NC. You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting some NY or NJ asshat who tells us how wonderful it was up north...not having the intelligence to understand how such a statement sounds or the manners to know not say such things in somebody else’s home.
