The desert is left completely clean and the exact location is rotated each year to allow the playa to settle back.

The first two times I went, I did not see a single piece of trash and was barefoot the entire time (it's basically an endless beach). Last year was not nearly as clean unfortunately. Most likely due to the event being everywhere in the media these days rather than word-of-mouth.

I go mostly for seminars, workshops and inspiration for engineering.
