Good Morning All. Sorry for My abcense the last 2 days, had stuff to deal with. Now on with the Post-Race News:
Nick OdellFront Tire Changer #18 team Nicholas ODell @NODell37 @bobpockrass @mdhutton it actually runs on liquid argon and made out of unobtainium. Recharging the flux capasitor Is a pain though.
Joe Gibbs Racing, new air guns? Denny Hamlin's #11 team was especially strong at Atlanta Motor Speedway, performing 11-second pit stops every time their driver came to pit road. While no one seemed to be able to get by #4-Kevin Harvick on the track, Hamlin's pit crew successfully gave him the lead multiple times throughout the night. The team's fastest stop of the night came at Lap 174, when the pit crew changed four tires and added two cans of fuel in an astonishing 11.0 seconds. Another thing that helped the JGR teams beat the competition on pit road is a reportedly new generation air gun being utilized by the teams as of late. Though few details are known about the new air guns at this point, their advantage was clear Sunday night. After the race, Kenseth would not go into details about the new technology, saying he honestly had no idea, but credited the organization's training skills for the fast stops.(in part from FoxSports) and see an opinion piece about the air guns at Pit Talks: Gibbs dominance on pit road in Atlanta has everyone talking.(9-2-2014)

Truex Jr. not happy with Kyle Busch: After starting sixth based on his qualifying effort on Friday for the Oral-B USA 500 Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta, #78-Martin Truex Jr. had to contend with handling issues with his #78 Furniture Row/World Vision Chevy during the 335-lap race. "I couldn't drive off the corners," said Truex. "But we hung in there, fighting for every possible position until Kyle (#18-Busch), for whatever reason, ran into the back of me, causing pretty good damage to our car. I passed him clean earlier and then he comes back and hits me from behind. It was totally uncalled for and hard to figure out why he did what he did. We were in the top-17 when that happened and had a chance of picking off a few more positions. Not sure why someone wants to go out and purposely wreck you when you're racing for 17th. Doesn't make any sense." But instead of gaining track position, Truex had to battle a damaged race car in the 10 laps of overtime. "We weren't great tonight, but we were better than 23rd," noted Truex.(FRR)
AND After the race, Truex, who finished 23rd, parked his car behind Busch's car in the garage. Truex then went to the window of Busch's car and had a discussion with Busch as Busch remained seated in the car. After that discussion ended, Truex had a discussion with Busch's crew chief Dave Rogers that continued as Busch, who finished 16th, exited the car and walked away. "They're hard-nosed competitors, and they don't cut each other much slack,'' Rogers said. "I talked to Kyle about what happened. He said he was expecting Martin to go in on the bottom, and Kyle was banzaing on the top and trying got get the pass. Martin surprised him by going up top, and Kyle said he got to the brake but he got to the brake too late.'' As for what Truex said?
"He came over and said his peace and asked why Kyle got in the back of him,'' Rogers said. "Martin didn't say or do anything wrong there. He kept it peaceful. He said what was on his mind, and I think that is accepted. It didn't get out of control. Kyle tried to explain what happened and I think they agreed to disagree tonight but they'll probably talk later this week and figure it out.''(

Another sponsor shows support for Stewart: One of #14-Tony Stewart's primary sponsors reaffirmed its commitment Sunday to the NASCAR star, citing "overwhelming" public support as Stewart remains under investigation in a sprint car driver's death. There's been no change in the marketing plan for Rush Truck Centers, the primary sponsor of Stewart's car in five races in NASCAR's premier series this season. W.M. "Rusty" Rush, the CEO, chairman and president of the truck dealership company (which is headquartered in New Braunfels, Texas, just outside San Antonio), said he attended the Atlanta race in a show of respect for the team. "We stand by Tony," Rush told USA TODAY Sports. "That's why I'm here today. It was a terrible accident. It was a tragedy. Obviously like anyone, we're sitting back and waiting for the investigation (to be completed). At the same time, we see nothing right now that would change our relationship with Stewart-Haas." Rush's marketing department has been monitoring feedback through email, its Facebook page and other forms of social media. "It was an accident, and we find that's the way it's been viewed, at least by our customer base," Rush said. "You're going to have a few negative comments, but it's been overwhelmingly in support of our sponsorship, of SHR and of Tony." Rush said he had talked to some on the company's board of directors and his executive staff, but there had been no meetings to re-evaluate its NASCAR sponsorship, which continues through the 2015 season. Rush wouldn't comment on how the sponsorship would be affected if criminal charges were filed against Stewart. "Speculation wouldn't be proper at this time," he said. "Let the investigators take it one step at a time."(

Mostly because it’s in Kookafornia. Also it’s a slow race. Both Sonoma and Fontana seem to bring out the “stupid” in the TV Crews turning into Hollywierd wannabees. There are much better Road Courses NASCAR could go to like Elkhart Lake (Road America), Mid Ohio, Road Atlanta.
I know there are NASCAR Fans there that want the Races and I understand that.
Mostly just a Personal thing, I’ve been to the Left Coast 3 times and just don’t like it.

reportedly new generation air gun being utilized by the teams as of late I could tell just from the sound that something was different. I think Harvick's crew chief figured out after the second time they got beat off pit road Gibb's teams got a a new air gun or something. So will NASCAR implement everyone use the same air gun or let technology takes it's course. Turn in next week for As The Air Gun Turns.

I think NASCAR will not intervene other that maybe taking a look at the guns.
I don't know what the gun rules are but you can be sure that somewhere in the Rulebook there are some specs. But it's not something we can look up- NASCAR guards those books closely. You can't get one unless you are in competition.
I wonder if Mama can get one of the Boys across the street to "spill the beans" on the guns.;)
