Nobody realizes ( or will admit to it) that the fix was in from the start. The NFL handled the Sam thing beautifully...

They had to draft him..otherwise there would be endless charges of homophobia. So the Rams stepped up and took one for the league. Less than 5% of 7th round picks ever make a team, so there wasn't much downside..but when the Rams picked him, it made NO sense..for the last few years, their D line has been among the best in the entire league...so where was he gonna play? He's far too slow to play OLB...and by cutting him the last day...they've removed any chance he had to catch on with another team.

They put Sam in a box, and tied it with a pretty pink ribbon..

And in retrospect, Michael Sam's public comments immediately after the draft ... when he said he should have been drafted much higher than the seventh round ... make him look absolutely retarded.

I'm not even sure this guy is cut out to be a "professional homosexual" like Ellen DeGeneres, either.

I still think the Rams made a backroom deal to draft Sam in order to get the league to support their later move. They cared nothing about the issue. Only downside was the backlash which they were prepared to take.
