It’s reaction to the dolts who let kids who don’t have firearms experience like you or I did try shooting off some kind of full auto weapons, where the rookie kid either kills self or instructor when they can’t control the gun. In short, guns should ve restricted because there are fools out there. IMHO, that’s foolish reasoning.
My parents told me to respect guns, cars, fire, and water, and I turned out okay.
Shooting should be taught in public school gym/PE class.
So, yes.
I have no idea. I shot off .22 rifles at 10 under some supervision, pellets earlier than that, and shotguns two years later. In retrospect, I didn’t miss much by not firing full auto, when I can aim and shoot semi auto or bolt action and make hits count.
Certainly. Respecting something in its operation is key to safety.
Was in High School during the fiftys and the guys in ROTC brought their guns to school once a week for practice. The crime rate was nothing like today. I lived in Detroit. Dad was a detroit mounted policeman so I was use to guns, the only thing he ever taught me about guns was.....Never point a gun at anyone unless you plan to pull the trigger and shoot...never shoot unless you fully intend to kill them... The second thing about cops he said,....always be polite to the man with the gun......He was short on words but used them well....LOL
