Afternoon. A successful fundraiser: people always give to the Cub Scouts, because they’re so cute. Kathleen is poorly again, but I have to go to choir practice anyway while she has her nap.
It’s Conference weekend, so I’m on and off the computer until 1500.
One of my neighbors loaned me a book about the 20th Century. Each page is a month in the calendar, and right now, I’m only up to September 1903.
And speaking of books...when I went up to the community room to pay the rent yesterday, there was a 5th Edition “The Complete Works of Shakespeare” by David Bevington...nearly 2000 pages, on the “FREE!” table. I didn’t even think twice! I snatched that puppy up!
Yes, I know: the last thing I need is another book, but go figger.
In my quiet times, I’m making a new footstool cover to match the rug and furniture. It was an olive green, but I no longer have anything green in my apartment. I’m nearly done with the top, but will have to make a little “tingly-roo” for the top decoration, and for once, I’m going to add a little feminine flounce to something. I’ve always tried to keep my furniture in the classic/comfy mode, figuring I can add frills with the accessories.
So this is a departure for me. Mostly, I’ve had a rather masculine look to things, but hay, I’m 70...I can add a ruffle or two!
