I've told this story before, but:
Almost thirty years ago, I was at a closing in Tucson or Phoenix. The closing created a fund that acquired 12-15 hotels upon creation. The hotels had about ten different owners and the closing took most of three days.
Over 25 of us worked into the first night and a partner from the Tucson/Phoenix firm asked his Hispanic secretary to order pizza for us for supper.
She said she'd never eaten pizza and didn't know how to do it. He told her to call a specific pizza place and said it would handle it for her.
For 25 of us, she ordered 25 large Hawaiian pizzas.
The partner communicated something to her the next day, but the message was apparently not clearly conveyed. About 20 of us were working late the next night and she was asked to order pizza (no take-out Chinese in Arizona in the 80s).
She ordered 20 large pepperoni pizzas.
Diversity can be a good thing.
