Last really worthwhile Apple purchase I made was my G4. (Computers...remember when they made those?) I still use that thing—great machine.
Then I bought laptops after that. It’s been nothing but headaches with those and they are increasingly difficult to service.
25+ years with Macs and I never want to buy another again.
What's so difficult? My daughter spilled a drink in her Mac laptop. I had her send it to me, isolated the problem quickly and swapped in a new keyboard for $100. Instructional videos are everywhere on the Internet, as are parts. A neighbor had a problem with his, and I swapped out his power inlet jack for $20 (he had broken the tip off the power plug and fried the jack, this was pre-magnetic plugs). I've even swapped out laptop screens and backlight tubes. Easy.
