Might have been a mini-stroke which tend to occur as we age even if driving skills are still sharp. Don't know if testing can predict them, probably not. Still, I would imagine more people get killed by teenage drives than old ones. Hard to kill anybody at ten miles an hour(mall speed.)

Not likely, the deterioration has been a slow and noticeable only to me thus far. As someone who spent over 30 years as a police officer and paramedic, I think I would have notice a stroke. LOL! But, who knows?

Mayhap I just one of the few oldsters that will admit that I’m not the hot shot I once was and am willing to take a drivers test periodically to prove I’m not a menace on the streets. Just say’n

Why does everyone pick on old people whenever 1 of these stories come up?

Why not question the skills of teenagers? (BTW, notice which age groups are penalized by insurance cos).

Why not question those of us young adults and middle aged?

After all, about equal parts of accident stories are all these.
