The number of championship drivers in contention for the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship will decrease after every three Chase races, from 16 to start in the Chase Grid; 12 after Chase race #3; eight after Chase race #6; and four after Chase race #9
- The first three races of the Chase (27-29) will be known as the Challenger Round
- Races 30-32 will be known as the Contender Round
- Races 33-35 will be the Eliminator Round and race #36 will be the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship
- A win by a championship-eligible driver in any Chase race automatically clinches the winning driver a spot in the next Chase round
- Four drivers will enter the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship with a chance at the title, with the highest finisher among those four capturing the prestigious NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.

Short of a fluke, the last 4 drivers will likely remain the last 4 at the end of the next 3 races.
Well at least this change doesn't happen in the middle of the Race like when chad-the-cheater did with 6whine & Jeffy Crews...
Haas says Kurt Busch can test F1 car if.... Gene Haas did reveal that he has told NASCAR driver #41-Kurt Busch, who races for Stewart-Haas Racing in the Sprint Cup Series, that he can test the F1 car if he wins the championship this year. "Everybody I talk to is interested," Haas said. "I was talking to Kurt Busch last week. He was interested. He said if he wins the NASCAR championship, if could he have a ride in one. I said "for sure!" if he wins the championship." Busch has expressed his excitement for Haas' project in the past, and although his chances of winning the championship do look slim, he could enjoy a brief test in the car at some point. "I said he can get in the car!" Haas said, laughing. "I tell you, an American driver in a Formula 1 car in Europe, that would just knock it out of the ball park. I'll give it to you: Kurt Busch could drive one of these cars."(NBC Sports)(9-10-2014)
I don't see KB as being in the "age group" for this, and would He fit into the "wine & cheese" club in F1?
So which is it? Lies beget lies. I still say 6whine is working on his Broadway show...

It will take some time to think about the implications of the new rules.
It looks like we may be getting snow starting this afternoon.
Looks like those predictions are correct - early snow. Will it be snow all year though? That is the question.
Weather pattern is pretty close to last year, raining this week. At least not in the inches and tens of inches this time around.
And we are heading to the mtns for the weekend. Looks to be lovely, better than last year, which was lovely!
I am here getting the 40,000 mile service done on my Mercedes C300 which is my commuter car for my long drive to Colorado Springs that I have to do several times a week. All that mileage is just in 13 months! So far, with this car I have almost smacked 1 elk, 2 mule deer and 1 antelope. Missed just barely. The elk was in the middle of the road in a mountain curve in the road at night and when my headlights hit, she tried to scramble, but slipped and fell in the road. I was all over the ABS brakes and stopped about 6 feet from hitting her. She was on her side trying to kick my car and then got up and did like a bucking bronco still trying to kick my car. I was just thinking that my insurance agent is not going to believe the story if my car gets damaged!
Wild. We picked up a “new” car for me in the spring, a 2007 model with extremely low miles (older owner). Since I have owned it, it has been in for repairs for 2 months (all under certified pre-owned warranty). Right after that, I put a whole new brake system in it.
About three days after we got it back from the brakes, we were rear-ended on I-25 coming out of Denver. So back for repairs it went.
I am hoping we have no more problems with it.
Since then, my son bought a brand new Mazda. He is wary of used cars.
