If someone wants to control the images of their building then they should not build it where anyone can see it.

The above all applies to the IR spectrum most often used in cameras. Other parts of the spectrum might work somewhat different.

Maybe a more advanced version might work on the Wells Fargo building ... where are the guards? where is the money? where is the twit with the PA microphone? Gotta take her out first! Oceans 14?

Those aren’t IR. I looked into them some years ago. Looks like they’ve advanced quite a bit.

They’re an active sensor, emitting radiation and then scanning what bounces back, unlike IR or visible light cameras, which as passive.

I think these operate in the part of the electromagnetic spectrum above microwaves but below IR.

Interesting tech, but looks like it needs a lot more work to be practical for much.

Go stand on the public roads and take pictures of a Maximum Security Prison or a Federal Building and when the guys in black vans show up and tell you to stop tell them to shove it because you know the law. Then get back to me.

Actually have someone else get back to me with a video of the incident and have them film it from a hidden vantage point and be sure to tell them to leave the area immediately after the incident and that when they upload the video, do it at a internet cafe a few states away from where they live and to make sure their are no facial recognition cameras around.

Actually I have taken photos outside of maximum security prisons. The CT Max is about four miles away from my house. My kids played soccer in a field that abuts the prison. I have taken, literally, thousands of photos there. I even won a award for a picture of wild turkeys walking along the fence.

Yep I've taken pics Outside of a Maximum Security Prison also In fact every picture I've taken literally has been outside of a Maximum Security prison being I've never taken a picture inside of one.

But this is not what I said. I said go and stand on a public road and take pics of a Max Security Prison not of kids in a field next to one or turkeys or whatever. Make it obvious that you are indeed taking pics of the prison and in view of the security force of same and when they come out and tell you to move along tell them you know the law etc.

In Lucasville Ohio a fella stood on the public roads and took several photos of the Max Prison from same and when some gub'ment types showed up he told him how was within his rights and he wasn't leaving and they scarfed him up and had a little private powwow and when he left he had his camera and no pics. They explained how the patriot act made things real easy for them to charge him with a crime that could put him away for years.

This happened in 2012 IIRC and it did not make the papers even though he was on assignment to get some pics for a local paper. But that fella has never gone back to take more pics as far as I know.

I don't think that's true. You can get into copyright trouble if you PUBLISH photos of someone's private property, but I don't think there's anything that says you can't photograph a house/building.
