The pilot of the missing MH370 flight killed himself and his passengers by switching off the oxygen supply in what is the sixth example of such a suicide, according to an aviation expert.
Ewan Wilson, head of Kiwi Airlines, believes Zaharie Ahmad Shah planned mass murder - locking his co-pilot out of the cockpit, depressurising the cabin and shutting down all communication links before turning the plane around.

It’s as useful a theory as any. But why turn around and fly out over the ocean? What the point in that? I can’t imagine any pilot would have predicted that the plane would vanish without any trace so what difference does it make where it crashes?
Firstly a pilot cannot cut off the oxygen in a commercial air liner, it’s not as if they carry oxygen to add to the cabin air in fight. Oxygen concentrations are maintained by pressurization of the aircraft, a pilot could depressurize the plane theoretically, but I’m also sure in a modern aircraft such as an airbus there would be multiple warnings should the aircraft fail to maintain a proper density altitude onboard. The premise is false for the outset.
Oxygen generators and onboard oxygen is provided in the event of depressurization, some oxygen may be carried for an onboard medical emergency. Oxygen is considered a drug and would not be regulated by the flight crew other than through cabin pressurization.

This needs the equivalent of the “satire” alert. Maybe “theory alert”.
That’s not actually what was stated. The point was that the O2 would run out anyway with emergency masks. Not that he cut it off.
Poor headline, including the fact it does not include a “claims” disclaimer.

Moral of the story: Never fly on a plane piloted by a muslim.

Believes being the keyword here. Believes but has no factual clue if that’s the case.
The O2 system on commercial liners is generally autonomous.
