A crime is not a crime, unless it is posted online.

But any crime that is posted online becomes the Crime of the Century.

How could anyone know that it was actual alcohol from a photograph? Other than the caption, it could of just as well been fruit juice.

“...someone saw the picture and called the police.”

OR

the police were scanning Facebook themselves and called DHS to assist in a “capture.”

My grandparents were Italian immigrants. Grew up in Italian section of Brooklyn; always had sips of wine with dinner.

"...and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security." - DOI, 1776

I'm still waiting for the rest of the country to join me over here at "insufferable."

If they arrested every parent who let their kid take a sip...

One of my high school teachers had this saying, “Fools names and fools faces are always seen in public places.”

as far as I know it is no crime to provide alcohol to your children in your home. All my children were taught to drink at home and drank at all holiday celebrations. There is nothing to arrest.

NEVER answer any questions from law enforcement or agents of the state without your attorney being present. Do not allow them in your house without a warrant. Do not allow them to question your children.

It is probably public and probably being used by anonymous perverts who go there for pics of her children....

Facebook is the new, hip STASI. And the “guilty” can’t wait to turn themselves in. LOL.

The authorities better be able to prove it was booze. If I was the woman, I would hire an attorney and go for false arrest. Innocent until proven guilty.

I’ve warned both of my kids NOT to post idiot things because potential employers WILL see it and it WILL curtail their job prospects.

It was stupid to post it on line. But I think the police are stupid for arresting her. We had wine sometimes with dinner. I sipped Grandpa's beer once in a while. We had eggnog on Christmas Eve.

Now the control freaks are saying sugar is bad for your heart, because Mooshells food Nazi tactics are being rejected.

Cops must really be stupid these days.

That wouldn’t happen here. There is an exemption that allows parents & guardians to serve alcohol to their children “for medicinal purposes”. I had a friend whose mother used to give him a shot of rum if he was cranky and not sleeping. 45 years later it still works :-)

Great thing about being old: We were young and stupid - and did all that stupid stuff - before the internet.

Oh, and obviously her experiment was not “that” controlled...

Even when I was a kid, most parents allowed kids to sample alcohol at home, on special occasions, and that is still the case around here-it hasn’t produced a bunch of raging drunks.

If there was any “child abuse” done by that woman, it was the posting of personal stuff on Farcebook-not letting the kid taste something in their own home. Farcebook is a magnet for those who want attention, take a pic/make a video of every detail of their personal business to post there, then wonder why they get in trouble...
