Cat Stevens Doing First US Tour Since 1976

New Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Cat Stevens is taking the "Peace Train" back on the road. He announced yesterday that he'll do a six-city concert tour in North America this December, his first series of shows in the US since 1976. His conversion to Islam followed, putting his music career on hold for a quarter-century. Stevens, who also is releasing a blues album on Oct. 27 produced by Rick Rubin and titled Tell 'Em I'm Gone, is using that stage name along with Yusuf, the name he took when he converted. The performer of 1970s-era hits "Wild World," ''Morning Has Broken," and "Peace Train" has slowly broken back into secular music during the past decade and has made only a handful of semi-public and television appearances in the US.

Except that that’s NOT the poem.

I knew it the moment I heard it was a poem by an English poetess of the 19th century. They would never say “from the world”. That made no sense to them. So I looked it up. And sure enough, the non Christians changed it.

Morning has broken,
Like the first morning,
Blackbird has spoken
Like the first bird;
Praise for the singing,
Praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing
Fresh from the WORD.

You see,

“In the Beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
And the Word WAS God.
The Same was in the Beginning with God.
All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything that was made. In Him was life, and the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness does not comprehend it.”
John 1:1-3

The 1st verses of John stating the divinity and creating authority of Christ. So you see what Stevens has done is already an insult to Christians, and they don’t know it.

Cat Stevens can be about as trusted as those who sent him back here.

More importantly, why are ANY mosques “still standing” in our FREEDOM LOVING nation?? Where is the FAITH of this GREAT nation? Have we resolved ourselves to embrace “Shame” & “Subjugation”? Or are we going to start acting like Americans and “fight the good fight”? The sands of time are running out!

Cat “Yassuf” (Joseph)Stevens “Islam” (Religion of Death) joined a cult many years ago and is no longer welcome in this hemisphere. How about new words to his original song:

“Your still Jihad, that's ok, if you want you can still blow up”.

Have the Mussie open for Ted Nugent. I’d buy a ticket
for that. Or take names and addresses along with tickets
at all of Cat’s concert venues.

The headline is wrong. His legal name is not Cat Stevens.

Clearly the publicity hack that managed to get this placed knows that a “Yusef Islam” tour would generate even less enthusiasm than a “Cat Stevens” one.

So he changes his name but doesn’t even have the balls to use it except for select audiences.

Agree on both counts. I listen to some ‘70’s stations and the force feed a heavy rotation of Elton John. I can’t knock his talent but he’s a repulsive freak and I can’t stand to listen.

Some of his music is some of my all time favorites however, most of it is trash. Peace train, Wild world, morning has broken, oh very young, moon shadow, great stuff. Most of his other stuff sucks.

"If he is true to his religion, he will be raising money for ISIS."

That is exactly what this is. All muslimes are terrorists and "moderate muslimes" are their Trojan Horse.

There are a lot of hard hitting hilarious responses here. Thank you all.

It appears from this information that he was never a U.S. Citizen.

"Cat Stevens was born Stephen Demetre Georgiou in 1948 to a Greek Cypriot father and a Swedish mother.

The family owned a restaurant on Shaftesbury Avenue, in the west End of London, and Stevens and his older brother and sister waited tables from an early age.

CAT STEVENS

From 2006:

"Homeland Security officials said Yusuf Islam — formerly known as singer Cat Stevens — will be deported Wednesday after being denied entry to the U.S. Stevens had recently been placed on a government "no-fly" list after U.S. authorities received information indicating associations with potential terrorists, a government official said."

Cat Stevens to be deported after jet diversion

So what we are left with is that he is not a U.S. Citizen, and he has a prior deportation. Does it surprise anyone that the Obama Junta is allowing him to perform?
