Tebow’s character was noted, only because he exuded it and Winston also exudes his. The problem is that nobody in the major sports media is willing to put Winston’s character on display. To equate the two is balderdash.
The NFL does have character qualifications, the only problem is that money gets in the way of enforcing them.
The media was crazy in love with Tebow. Until he cried. And after he cried was when I first liked him. (Him crying coincided with his team losing. The media suddenly noticed some weaknesses.)
I don’t remember anyone wearing messages in eyeblack before Tebow. I don’t recall the media making fun of Tebow until after the big crying scene. I know people who really didn’t like him because he made such a show of praying in public. The lovefest for Tebow was undeniable.
