If you want the most hopeful message you will see today, watch this video.
Why I Think This World Should End
Though...some of what he says is correct.
Yeah, I thought so too.
Some of the points were platitudes but two lines stood out that I thought were very worth while:
"Technology has given us everything we could ever want - and stolen everything we could ever need."
"Our role models of today 60 years ago would have been examples of what not to be."
No one, but that's not the main message here. This is anti free enterprise kum baya liberal bullsh-t for the most part.
Is that not from which conservative values are motivated?
No, not really, though there is some over lap to be sure.
Isn't that Jesus Christ's message?
No, not really, though there is some overlap to be sure.
Watched it. Makes some sense.
I’m not hearing collectivism. I’m hearing ‘let each individual be more loving to one another’, and I just don’t see that as collective.
The video needs subtitles. The cues help a little bit but I can’t understand what he’s saying.
then you’re not listening......collectivism was absolutely in there....anti business anti profit anti free enterprise was in there.
You are so chocked on the sugary syrup on top that you can’t see the stinky rotten substance at its core.
Thank you.
I was impressed and I got a lot out of it. Yes, I would add some of my own points. And de-emphasize some of his, but overall it was worth viewing.
yes, those were two of the best lines....
I think I understand where you are getting the 'collectivism' message now.
He's got some complaints about big business and where they are -- as he puts it -- brainwashing us.
I feel he is right but perhaps for the wrong reason. Business has teamed with government to become oppressive here in America. The revulsion I feel for big business AS IT PRESENTLY IS INCARNATED is due to the fascism (combination of business and government to manage the populate) it exhibits today. I miss the old way business used to operate, before Crony Capitalism.
"Isn't that Jesus Christ's message?" No, not really, though there is some overlap to be sure.
Significant enough overlap that it is worth showing to my friends here.
That one stood out for me.
Thank you, Laz.
My radar for the liberal message in everything is hyper sensitive. I am a pain in the ass to watch TV with, watch movies with, watch commercials with.
And yes, videos too.
A lotta liberal crap in here.....yeah, some good lines, some good points, but the liberal crap ruined that for me.
I was crafting my response to your point as you reinforced it, above. See my response.
I liked it.
Then as with most things in life, take what you like, and leave the rest. :)
I rather like his solution to the problem, even if he and I might disagree about what some of the problem looks like. :)
I love you. :)
Me too. On all counts. I'd alter my description of the problem... but I would probably come up with the exact same solution. :)
The love of money is the root of all evil. So get yourself a worthwhile degree so you’re not a burden on society.
Yeah, that particular point annoyed me. The other point he tried to make that I didn’t like, was the implied comment that gayness is genetic (where he talks about ‘being born that way’). We don’t know that it’s genetic. I didn’t like those two components of his description of the problem.
But nobody’s perfect, so I took what I could use, and left the rest.
I did like his criticism of big business, because of who they have become. They used to be pro-American, interested in profits because in the long run, a rising tide lifts all boats. Now they could care less about America, and Crony-Capitalist their way to special breaks that ultimately hurt the country.
I guess we can file this under the ‘Not Every Liberal Is 100% Wrong’ file. His solution sure is on-point.
