That, of course, is everyone’s right. But just because you showed up on a security camera in a public place around the time something happened and the police want to see if you have any info, that’s not really a reason to get a lawyer. But that may not fit your ‘person of interest’ label. Which is a valid point.
The fact that you show up on a surveillance cam at the time and place of the incident is called, “evidence”. If someone is collecting evidence and calling you a suspect, (or the trendy term with identical meaning, “person of interest”) you damned well better have a lawyer.
