I can put a full Thanksgiving meal on the table for $30 or less by taking advantage of sales and coupons. Kroger’s always has a Turkey half price if you buy $10 worth of groceries, and I make sure I have coupons for every item. I start prepping in Oct when they put sales on a lot of the items. That includes desert.

I use a fruit and veggie stand, a lot. Plus I plant a lot of green beans and freeze them. I am hoping my blackberries will do better this year, and the strawberries, they spread fast. Those I freeze for jams or cobbler or pies.

I use to carry a Bersa .38 until Arthur got my hands, then I was forced into the Taurus Ultra Lite 38 revolver. I think I should be able to rack and clean my own weapon, not rely on some one else to do it. The 12 gauge comes with a pistol grip. I’m so short all I need to do is bring my gun to center mass, point body and fire, I will hit a vital area.

Life sure is to short to buy and use crap. And when you go is not up to you, it is up to GOD. Cholesterol diets are for the birds. Unless you have digestive disorders.

You are doing a great job! I am a bit behind on planting my winter garden for some things, but I made some progress this week.

For now, I have a retaining wall that runs about 16 feet along my back basement patio. It faces south west, and I have raised beds running along that. They are 3 foot wide. If I win the lottery, I will have a green house on the patio, so that I can just walk into it from the basement sliding doors.

In the winter I line the sides of this bed, with milk jugs of water, and the sun hits the concrete and jugs to warm up and then release the heat at night. I just use it for cold hardy stuff.

When needed, I can quickly cover the raised beds slanting the cover like a cold frame. I also have an electrical outlet in case I want to heat it with a 100 watt bulb. I grow some warm weather plants such as Tomatoes, Peppers, and Lemons in front of the patio door inside.

It’s so nice to have fresh produce that I know have had no pesticides or pathogen exposure. Plus I don’t have to go out to the store during flu season when the weather is really cold.LOL
