Ronald Reagan was a great man. He was the best governer California ever had and probably the best of all the presidents. Washington was truly great as was Jefferson but neither of them had the world to deal with that Reagan had.
Reading his hand written talks on a variety of subjects will bring tears to your eyes. The guy who was always portrayed as an idiot was likely the smartest man to ever hold the office.
I agree. Some of the smartest people I’ve ever met are fine letting people think they’re a bit slow. I didn’t understand at the time what he was contending with. It’s more impressive in retrospect than I can put into words. I don’t think he would be happy though if we concluded we will never see his like again. For me, the questions are, where can we look, and how can we encourage those like him to prominence?
