The virus does a number on the body. It attacks the white cells sent to destroy it and then infects them.
It’s really just amazing that anyone survives this.
I had no idea anyone survived it at all until recently. I’ve been reading a lot about it here on FR.
One thing I wondered about regarding survivors-there must be some long term or permanent damage after having such a brutal illness. I understand they can still transmit the virus for months through semen. I’m sure survivors aren’t what they used to be at all but haven’t read anything about it beyond they survived so it’s beatable.
