I’m not sure why the FReeper wisdom — vote against the RINO in the primary, vote against the ‘Rat in the general, repeat as needed — waned in some quarters of FReeperdom, but it has.

Okay, I can see in a deep blue state or district where there is not hope of even replacing a ‘Rat with a RINO, voting on principle for a Constitution Party or (depending on your principles) Libertarian candidate when the GOP insists on running some objectionable candidate, but with that narrow exception, against the RINO in the primary, against the ‘Rat in the general should be the standard.

It has because the GOP-E posters have a concerted effort underway here on FR to blame Conservatives for their losing elections, rather than finally coming to the correct understanding that RINO's and RINO policies are nothing more than Democrat party "lite" and therefore, unacceptable.

I'm just so sick and tired of the Republican Party. I hate them. Don't get me wrong, I hate the Democrats too. I'll NEVER EVER EVER vote for a Democrat. I've voted for Republican's who've LIED to each and every one of us saying what they'd do if elected, then the slimy no good bastards turn around and align themselves with the Democrats.

Illegal Immigration? No difference between the two parties.

Budget Deficit? No difference between the two parties. If there were, the House of Representatives would've closed the checkbook, refused to give Obama any more money, and by force of lack of appropriations, would've balanced the budget. But they didn't.

Outsourcing Jobs? Republican Establishment all for it.

More H1B's? Republican's all for it.

Wall Street Run-Amok? Republican's all for it.

Failure to challenge the Fed on interest rate policy, printing $85 billion/month out of thin air? Republican's silent or all for it.

"Bork" Obama's extreme leftist liberal appointments to the US Supreme Court? Republican's laid down and gave Obama what he wanted.

Adding $8 Trillion (and counting) to the National Debt, nearly doubling it during Obama's turn? Exactly what did the Republican's do to stop it or just says "NO!" (Answer: Nada. Zilch. Zip, Zero. Nyet. Nine.)

This list can go on, and on, and on. Why am I not showing up to vote in the Federal Elections this year? Because I hate both parties. One party, the Democrats we know are liars and out to destroy America. They're actually upfront about it too. The tell you what you'll get if you vote for them, then they deliver on their destruction.

The Republican's on the other hand (and more specifically, the Republican GOP-Elite) smile, look you right in the eye and LIE about what they'll do if elected. Yep, the slimy, well polished, well spoken bastards will tell you everything you want to hear. Why, they've got JUST THE CURE for Ameica's ills. And when they tell you and I what the cure is, we buy into it hook, line and sinker.

Like I said, Democrats are upfront about their intentions to destroy America. The Republicans, and the GOP-E more specifically are the worst kind of lying assholes I can think of. They say one thing, do another.

I've heard it said for YEARS now here on FR (I've been around since 1998....) that we HAVE to vote Republican to stop the Democrats.

Ok, stop the Democrats and then what --- get Democrat policy from the Republican party? Yep, because that's what's been happening.

The Party of Ronald Reagan is no more. The party of smaller, less intrusive government went by the wayside in a big hurry with the election of GW Bush. Yeah, I know it's near heresy to say anything negative about GW Bush but the FACTS ARE he and the Republican Party starting in 2001 dramatically expanded the size and scope of the Federal Government. GW Bush signed the Patriot Act - the very act that started this rapid, near limitless incursion into our daily lives that the Obama Administration just pressed the gas pedal to the floor on.

Why exactly are we, the citizens of this country in the position of fearing our Government when the Founding Fathers intended the exact opposite?

It's because the corrupt two-party system where the only difference between the R's and the D's is less and less about policy, the size of Government, or even taxation! The Republican's spent like drunken sailors when Bush and the Republican's controlled all three branches of Government! Yes, Obama's worse -- but who tried stopping Bush and the Republican's from spending so much? NO ONE. Why? Because it was the REPUBLICANS in power, and as long as they were in power, Big Government was ok.

No, it's not OK. The party of Ronald Reagan is gone. Never to return with the GOP-E at the helm. Certainly never to return as long as the stupid, slimy, corrupt bastards continue to try imitating the Democrats on damn' near every issue and policy.

Want to know why this country's in so much trouble? It's because of all the stupid idiots who go to the damn' polls and keep voting for the R's and D's, never stopping to ask themselves if that's what's really best for the country.

So excuse the F**K out of me if I refuse to vote for and validate the corrupt two-party system at the Federal level. The rest of y'all can go right on ahead without me and keep the corruption going. I refuse.

The founding fathers intended that we'd be able to change the course of government via the ballot box. The founding fathers also were smart enough to know that once the government figured out it could sway people's votes one way or another, effectively "buying" their votes, that the country would be lost.

This country is lost. The only thing left up for debate is WHEN it became lost. Some would argue November 2000. Others would say November 2008. What does it matter? Our country is lost. The ballot box is no longer an effective means to right the ship of state of our country.

I have a saying about what happens when the ballot box no longer works. It's in my tagline, and it was inspired by the following quote from Thomas Jefferson:

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion.
The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is
wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts
they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions,
it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ...
And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not
warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of
resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as
to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost
in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It is its natural manure."
