We all owe Jim Robinson a huge debt of gratitude for providing us with our meeting place and keeping the flame alive.
There are still plenty of wise and insightful FReepers here, a lot smarter than I, and I'm grateful for their participation.
I too found Free Republic in the fall of 97 when I got my first computer. Well it was WebTV but that was new to me. I soon signed up with my own name but in Aug of ‘98 I changed it to Ditter. Had I known what a very early sign up date was some kind of a prize I wold have remained ijharrison.
I do as well. I thought Bill Clinton was the devil himself but now I know better.
In retrospect, it will be clear that Obama was just a Democracy Alliance houseboy.

I’m still here, and I remember . . .
I was told about FR by Michael Rivero way back when Diana died. I signed up a few months later as CitizenX.
As time went by it became harder to use do a self search because I kept getting posts to Citizen and CitizenX7.
So I resigned as Mr_Magoo. I picked Mr_Magoo because I went to a pistol range and discovered my glasses needed replacement!
Eventually even Mr_Magoo became a crowded mess and JR helped me combine everything into my current and final name ===>Petruchio<===
I still post once and a while, but most of my efforts are focused on staying alive. I have stage 4 cancer and recently the cancer has been winning. I know one day my name will be added to the FR Wall, I never thought of that when I started that Wall way back when . . .

I was referring to Yahoo’s old politico chatrooms. They had a Washington Watch and a Scandals chatroom or two that used to get lit up pretty good.
That’s where I saw FReeper Linn37 post about FreeRepublic.com and the next 10 years of my life went poooof.. up in posts.. after I lurked awhile. ;-}
