The information in this blog post is interesting but one-sided. For instance it does not address at all the economic contribution that illegal aliens make to our economy. However, if one drives through a portion of your city where these illegals reside you will quickly see something you don't seeing any other part of the city, a money wiring service on nearly every block. While they do provide cheap labor, much of their income returns to Mexico where their loyalty remains as evidenced by their Mexican flags. To hire such labor is like buying goods made in a foreign country. Yes, a domestic middleman reaps an economic margin but the margin on goods sold returns to the country of manufacture.
We cannot totally discount the contribution to our economy that this pool of cheap labor provides BUT the case for slavery was argued on the same grounds. It did not make slavery right. Here we have sovereign laws on the books that our President refuses to enforce. That is wrong. Granting citizenship rights to people who break our laws to get here is wrong, especially when we take away such rights from citizens who break our laws.
This article posted also fails to address how warm and hardworking many of these illegal aliens can be. Nevertheless, the author of this post does address the influx of gang members, drug cartel associates, and other criminal element. To be sure, this is a small percentage of some otherwise good people. BUT that is what the Office of Immigration was created to do, weed out those bad elements.
Coming here illegally skirts that safeguard AND, in today's world, the threat of mass terrorism and deadly disease infestation presents a danger we ill-afford to ignore. Securing our borders is an IMMEDIATE MUST. However, this author fails to weigh the cost and complexities of rounding up 20 million illegals. So, round-up and deportation may be too prohibitive but why do we turn loose those who fall into law enforcement hands? That is indefensible.
I love the Mexican people. I encourage those who want to come here to get a work visa and do so. I encourage those who love America and are loyal to her to become citizens. We have legal procedures to accomplish both. Let us execute our laws, Mr. President.
Finally, the USA is one of two nations in the world with an idiotic law that states that if a baby is born within our borders, even if the mother is here illegally, it is a "natural born" citizen. That law needs to be repealed immediately, Congress.

The only taxes paid by illegals (those that are working “on the books”) is Social Security and Medicare. But that is canceled out by them fraudulently claiming earned income credit which exceeds any tax withheld (most have none withheld). They also pay some sales taxes, but those are paid for by welfare benefits paid by real taxpayers. The only beneficiaries of their presence are greedy business owners and democrat politicians who use the body count to create fraudulent votes. In short, illegals are a net drain—and a big one—on the U.S. economy.

We cannot totally discount the contribution to our economy that this pool of cheap labor provides...Total cost a whopping $538.3 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR !
That contribution is offset by the cost. Net loss. I say Adios Amigos.

Unmentioned, but pretty critical: millions of jobs open up for youth to get their first job, an important stepping stone into personal responsibility. Hence why liberals love illegals - without those first jobs, they continue the welfare state that gives them votes.

Immediate huge decrease in victims of drunk driving.
Immediate huge reduction in rape of children.
A few jobs would open up in this horrible economy for real Americans.
Fewer gang bangers and thieves. (I've been a victim of theft of two air conditioning units by Mexican "construction" gangs.)
Immediate huge reduction on social services, hospitals, schools, etc.
Democrats would be hard pressed to replace this source of vote fraud in their election stealing machinery.

Well I would probably have to mow my own lawn, weed my own property and other things. But that is really not fair because I am NOT 100 percent sure if my lawn service hires illegals or if they have to be American Citizens. The only concern I have is when they are mowing and I go out to the deck to ask a question and I have the look of âNo hablo Inglisâ. But I had some Ukrainian neighbors 30 years ago who could speak very little English and they were citizens so who knows.

“What happens to your country’s economy if 20 million people go away?”
If those 20 million people occupy most of the low skills jobs, American poor and undereducated would be able to find jobs again.
Those 20 million would no longer be using our public schools, welfare, S-CHIP, public housing, social security, etc etc etc
