Satori is a word I will never use.
There you go, I did it.
It was a very difficult decision to change from the traditional 6 panel colonial door with the big brass door knocker and the Williamsburg entry lock, but we’re glad we did it. We get a lot more light in the entry hall and less air leakage.
I tried to NOT select red because I thought it might clash with my brick. In fact, the company offered 2-3 different shades of red, and I was chewing my nails until it was delivered. My house is so traditional (4 column southern colonial) that I didn’t think I could afford to deviate too far. However, we actually removed all the shutters because they 1) warped from the sun and 2) gathered wasps nests and oriental beetles and box elder bugs behind them. My husband just gets furious at the bugs that still try to nest on the warm bricks in the fall.
I have only one set of shutters left and they surround the window on the 2nd floor abouve the front door. They are black, but they are very protected because they are position right under the overhang.
So my house is red brick with white trim and colums, one set of black shutters, and a red and glass front door.
I think your yellow, or chartreuse, will be just lovely.
Who are three people who have never been in my kitchen?
What color are your siding and shutters?
I have never seen a yellow front door in person but it looks good with the black accents.
i remember back when people said “carpet and drapes”
I like how its the Dem candidates that are falling apart.
Allison Grimes refuses to admit for voting for Obama.
Mark Udall was called Mark Uterus in a debate, by a moderator.
It’s a pale earthy green, no shudders....just white trim on all the windows. Red brick, which is more of a rose color. The accent color for the new concrete work on the porch has a yellow/gold in it that would pick up the door color if we go chartreuse.
LOL Ok, then. A++
I wanted a full window door, but DH was worried about the heating bills and a cold foyer. Me, not so much. I compromised and got a small window at the top. I like to spend time in my jammies in the winter, and will after my surgery, so I get more privacy that way.
It’s all bare floors nowadays.
I keep driving around my neighborhood checking out front doors. I did not want the same door as anyone else, then I have been checking colors. Lots of red doors, so I am not leaning towards that. My two closest neighbors have a red door and a bright medium blue door. I love both, and both would look good, but those colors are taken. Hard to tell people where I live, since the green color really is not noticed...the house with the yellow door sounds like it will be noticed.
I think carpets have been responsible for the rise is asthma and allergies. Dirty and disgusting. Can’t wait to get rid of my carpet.
Hunter green is a classy color for a door.
.
yeah :(
Do you follow @grimrutherford? Hilarious.
I think hd and soother are referring to Brazilian waxing, but same principle applies. Carpet=unsanitary.
LMAO. Ok then. I’ll just excuse myself.
We had that color a few years ago. Looked like a dark hole most days. Didn’t work out for us.
