Not where I shop. Food prices didn't go crazy where I live (Atlanta GA) but all of a sudden -- as in, this week -- things popped. Butter, for example: Normally 2.50 a lb, just nailed 5.00 a lb.
Seeing some of the same in Nebraska. And ground beef is very high, around $5/lb, I think. But we bought a whole roasting chicken, about 6 lbs IIRC, for $.99/lb last week. It’s what’s for dinner.
Butter frequently had been under $3/lb for quite a long time, now goes on sale for $3.88/lb.
Seemingly I am paying MUCH more attention to what is on sale, stocking up more on sale items that we will always use, just trying to outsmart the system as much as possible.
