But Boxer, Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Barbara Lee, etc etc. are gifts from the rest of the country to CA.

Alan Cranston, senator 1969-1993, was born in Palo Alto.

Michelle could buy a house across the line in Maryland and ease out Barbara Mikulski, whose seat comes up in 2016. Then she would be positioned to run for President in 2024 (or 2020 if Hillary loses in 2016).
