Yes there was cause to detain her, she deserved to know why.

Or do you propose the govt should be able to detain any citizen they want indefinitely without justification or explanation?
There was indeed cause, but was she treated with due respect and was the situation clearly explained to her? Having been through a few airports and watched airport security, I have to wonder.
