Put in mind that we have bats and pigs in North America too. I just hope those bats and those pigs are incompatible with Ebola, because it would be a nightmare if they weren’t.

I`m more worried about those bass-turds coming across our wide open Southern border. I think that`s the primary reason Obola the assclown will not lock down travel to West Africa as once that`s done, you gotta lock down the continental borders to be absolutely sure. After all they could try and sneak across.

We do have bats and pigs in the US, wild boar can be found in the near tropical climates in Florida and Louisiana. Let’s hope they are not compatible like African pigs.

Well, WHERE'S THE "SCIENCE"?

(...likely like climate "science"....)

As it stands, the southern border has plenty more currently than Ebola. Antibiotic resistant bacteria is a serious threat from there right now because many children from those areas do not get proper antibiotic treatment.

What about critters like raccoons or possums? And they`re scavengers that in turn are fed/scavenged upon by coyotes and vultures, (look up the Buzzards of Hinkley, OH)

That site cites authorities which don’t back up its claims, i.e., it appears to invent its facts. If it claims anything, find confirmation before you believe it.

My dog "loves" bunnies and woodchucks. The cat, mice and chipmunks.

There's no shortage of "science" that has to be done to convince me that it's "safe" to bring 0b0la organisms in ANY quantity to the US or the Americas.

would you rather I channeled the CDC and stated something I don’t know as scientific fact?

Science starts at about 4 significant digits and gets better from there in prediction.

Climate "Science" can't even get the signs correct.

For anybody to talk about the Medical "Science" of 0b0la is a joke. Barely an Art at this time, at best.

Bringing ANY of it to the Americas is uncalled for.

How about a plan to totally eradicate it in Africa (including the fauna)?

Thanks for the info. I am right now reading Richard Preston’s book, “The Hot Zone.” Just incredible.

Well the existing studies do show a propensity to increase the viability window of Ebola with lowered temps and humidity. And as Mom Doc said, given there`s never been a Ebola infection in the wilds of a Northern climate, we just don`t know.

But given that president Obola will not stop or quarantine travelers from West Africa, or health workers, I think we may find out the hard way. Paladin suggests freezing Ebola will preserve it, will it? I live near Akron, OH and after Amber Vinson, I don`t want to find out.

Imagine this scenario: Another Vinson is sick, she sneezes at the entrance to a public place, catching the sneeze in a flimsy tissue which blows thru. Then she touches the door handle or a hand rail on the way in. It`s cold enough and overcast, due to fall weather, so the contamination is cold preserved and protected from UV.

How many times does she repeat this? How many will touch those cold preserved handles or rails? Will they then go eat a Big Mac without washing their hands? What if the Big Mac attacker has a cold or allergy?

Its also a very dangerous virus that is highly lethal and we do not know enough about how it is transmitted and how to protect health care workers, which we would not know reading your posts

It is not my intent to teach people proper PPE use on the forum. There are plenty of resources in which to find proper PPE information--the CDC, the WHO, plenty of other public health agencies--and use of PPE should be learned hands-on from a real person.

My intent is to teach people about the biology of this virus. It is not some supernatural monster--it is subject to the same rules of physics and biochemistry as any other virus. We know that it is transmitted through close and direct contact (*not* aerosols); we know that some bodily fluids are teeming with virus. Although it is true that information on fomite transmission is lacking, it has also always been the practice to assume anything that has been in contact with the patient is highly contaminated, and to act accordingly.

I am not cavalier about anything, but I am very matter-of-fact. Do not mistake my dispassion as being cavalier--it absolutely is not. My childhood hero was Mr. Spock, from Star Trek--that should tell you something about how I try to present myself.

The “Science” claims that only one to ten 0b0la “particles” finding a home inside one are enough to infect one.

So if you can smell someone smoking a cigarette from fifty feet away, that means an airborne particle could travel just as far.
