Serious issue, starving kids can affect learning and even brain growth. No allowance or consideration for athletes who burn far more calories.
Had to edit headline to fit

In many high schools students are allowed to leave for lunch, some have cars, it’d be great to see them organize a way for someone to make lunch runs to Chik-fil-A or whatever.

Eight hundred and fifty calories for lunch? How do the athletes survive? How do they stay awake? The brain needs nourishment as well as the rest of the body.

Miss Hellrood has launched a movement at her school to encourage all students at her school to bring a bag lunch on November 13 and refuse to pay for school lunch. symbolism
Have a burger truck and a taco truck come next door, every day at lunch time.

I applaud her effort, but I really think she'd need to shoot for longer than one day for this to be successful.
She has also organized an effort to make sandwiches for the students who receive free or reduced lunches.
Good job here as well. It actually serves as an example of how charity should work....local folks finding ways to help out their own less fortunate and bypassing the need for government-controlled handouts.

Counting other peoples calories. A new low for socialism in America.
Of course, Stalin and Mao did it. They called it FAMINE.
I guess that’s what American Pig Socialists are pining for. Other people’s famine.
I’m sure the Royal Socialists in charge EAT THEIR FILL.

If her school was teaching students the federal governments constitutionally limited powers as the Founding States had intended for those powers to be understood, then Meghan Hellrood could simply argue that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to make policy for intrastate school lunches.

As Elena Ceaușescu once said of Romania's starving people, "The worms don't need to eat much".

There are certain stories which our media choose not to report.
Since this story is very critical of dear leader and his wife’s lunch program, our media decided to ignore it.
I guess we should be thankful for media in other countries and the internet so we can learn about some things happening in our own country.

Republicans should stand with the students on this issue.

Republicans should stand with the students on this issue. Kids in High School are old enough to know what they’d like to eat for lunch.
It’s wrong for control freak democrats to do this to young people.
