Deputy suspended after video post (Photos 'Let me see your f---ing keys. You want to resist?'

A Saratoga County sheriff's sergeant was suspended after a video posted on the Internet Friday captured him allegedly slapping a young man as the deputy insisted on searching his vehicle, which had a rifle on the back seat.

Sheriff Michael Zurlo on Saturday said he was "very disturbed" by what he saw on the video.

"I really am," the sheriff said. "I don't condone activity as it's portrayed and we're going to look into it and we'll handle this quickly and swiftly."

Sgt. Shawn R. Glans, 48, who has been a police officer for 27 years, was suspended without pay pending an internal investigation.

The video was captured by a young man who filmed his friend's encounter with Glans early Friday in Halfmoon. Glans confronted the pair after he said they walked out of nearby woods to their vehicle, which was in the parking lot of a business. Glans noticed a .22-caliber rifle on the back seat. The sergeant said they were wearing dark clothes and acting suspiciously, although they broke no laws.

"We'll get a (expletive) search warrant," the video shows Glans telling the young man, who was questioning the deputy's insistence that he be allowed to search the car.

"I wasn't in my car when all this was happening," the young man says. "Like, why don't you want to search, like, my house or something."

The video depicts Glans becoming frustrated as he says: "Let me see your (expletive) keys."

"Why?" the young man asks. "You can't do that."

"Because we're searching your (expletive) car, that's why," Glans says.

This is why the COPs will have no qualms about kicking your front door in when the pols tell them to confiscate your guns. None can be trusted.

Standard answer to “Can I search your ______” is always, “NO”.

And to “We’ll get a warrant.” is “You do that.”

ALWAYS have your phone ready to record when you get stopped by the cops. Most of the time you can delete it right afterwards...but if these guys hadn’t recorded this....no doubt it would have been he-said/she-said...and the cops dash-cam would have been deleted.

Attention Sheriff: "The activity", as you call it, was not portrayed - it was recorded as it was actually happening.

Asked if he would have handled the matter the same way again, Glans said he would, but not if he knew it was being filmed.

This, by itself, should preclude him from EVER having a job in law enforcement, anywhere in the United States, ever.

And that settlement should have been paid out of the police pension fund.

"Sorry pig. Not enough to live on in retirement? Shouldn't have acted like a douchebag."

Looks like the Gestapo attitude is alive and well in Saratoga County. This cop is your neighborhood truck loader and if you don't like it a few smacks and a beat down. This "cop' is a Jerk off of the highest order. I feel sorry for his wife.

This fat ass, power hungry bully has done this many times before, this incident just happened to be captured on video.

He should be prosecuted, but he'll just retire and show up as a deputy sheriff in Florida.

Having a last name which in any way resembles genetailia should disqualify an individual from becoming a peace officer.

Actually, it appears he was a Saratoga County deputy at the time of the other [known] incident, as well.

In 1999, the town of Wilton and Saratoga County paid $6 million to settle a lawsuit filed by the family of a 45-year-old man left paralyzed when a patrol car being driven by Glans smashed head-on into the other vehicle, according to a Times Union article on the case.

This porkie was previously found negligent in an accident he caused via a high-speed chase that left an innocent man paralyzed. Why this swine wasn’t imprisoned at the time is beyond me. This rabid animal should be put down.

AND!!! if they would have let him search the car he probably would have seized the rifle until “they finished their investigation”

Intimidating the citizens is the first lesson in cop school. Foul languge, threats, shooting the dog, and bullying any bystanders or witnesses, is core to their training. I guarantee you he is still being paid. The statement otherwise is just public relations.

You know...

Day’s gonna come when he doesn’t have a badge and a gun to hide behind...

And someone is going to slap his face, hard... and then kick the living crap out of him.

Deservedly so.

The town of Wilton and the county of Saratoga didn’t pay the millions for this Nazi’s behavior, the taxpayers did! The governments just handled the money transaction...

There should be a No Cop List, like the No Fly List. There should be a nationwide FBI-hosted point of contact that all departments should check before hiring.

This guy should be first on the list.

“His wife, Carrie, who is a medical provider, said her husband has been under a lot of emotional and physical stress and that she’s concerned how the video and any fallout may portray their family in the community. “What my husband did and how he reacted wasn’t the correct way to do it, but there were circumstances that came about beforehand,” she said. “He’s had a very hard year.”

Maybe an emotionally unstable goon like this cop should not have access to a gun or a badge.
