My bride is from Duncan Doughnuts land in the northeast...they have DD’s like Starbucks...at least one on every corner.
First time she came here I fed her a hot KK...we ate the entire dozen right there.

Cant stop with just 2 hot ones. LOL!When I was younger, a half dozen was the order, but I'm older now, still running against the wind, and two is my self imposed limit. YMMV

DD and KK are both exceptional, just different styles. KK winsd the glazed contest, but DD's French Crueller is better than the KK version. I'd give DD and KK a draw on the jelly doughnuts. KK wins the creme filled. DD doughnuts are better for coffee dunking.
In the midwest, there is the most unfortunate habit of dumping thick waxy gobs of Crisco based frosting on most doughnuts, oh the dough-manity!

On every corner is right. When I get up to East Syracuse, NY. right at the Carrier facility I can literally see two Duncan Donuts...one next door and one up the street at the traffic circle.
