It’s like “Affordable” care act.

Did you not learn something from the naming of obamacare ... ‘Affordable Care Act’? Democrats are all about lying and manipulating people, so NEVER take what they say or what they name as truth.

Can’t explain it until they pass it...

Hint, it’s probably bad for everyone not in power.

Ultimately it means that the Federales decide what data goes over whose network and at what speed.
Like that won’t be perverted and abused...

Good question I will be watching for an answer. While freepers are at it how about an explanation for “common core”.

The most concise explanation I've heard is from Ted Cruz: "net neutrality is Obamacare for the internet". That's his short and to the point way of saying that it's a socialist redistribution of bandwidth.

Here's a much more detailed explanation from former MCSNet CEO Karl Denninger's take - The Net Neutrality Debacle: A Submission To The FCC

Just more of Obama imposing his idea of “fairness”. Increased government control. A new tax stream. What’s not to like?

I've researched the heck out of this BUT still don't get it.

You've "made a difference".

Higher taxes - more freedom for the NSA to snoop on you.

It sounds good and reasonable, the term "Neutrality," yet it is just another attempt by the godless government to impose itself into every aspect of your life while taxing you for the beneficent oversight it provides in keeping you well-regulated (policed).

Nothing good will come from it, only more bloated and putrid government.

Government control of everything you see and hear.
Sort of like the intro scene in “The Outer Limits”!
Just change ‘television’ to internet and ‘The Outer Limits’ to Net Neutrality.

It’s alot of clever language to Nationalize every ISP in the United States. AT&T has halted fiber deployment until they see where it lands. Think of Chavez, Venezuela, and the private oil rigs off the coast for a better analogy.

Obama has already taken over Domain Names and put him and his Interwebz Czar in control of the kill switch to turn off the Internet whenever they get that Fourth Reich feeling. He is also seizing domain names at will via Eric Holder/DOJ.

The next step via net neutrality is to force each ISP to provide equal access that they can’t financially provide, to monitor for unlaw-way behavior aka talking bad about Demonrats, and opening their brown-eye to make sure Hussein’s fist has plenty of room.

AT&T sees a blitz coming. They are pulling back. Verizon is already the DHS provider of choice, so they are hosed. I don’t think the smaller providers can do anything about it but hope the Republicans stop this Fourth Reich Primate from destroying more parts of the economy.

When examining anything, you have to look at the inherently scarce resource.

In this case, it’s “bandwidth”, ie, how much information can be transferred at one time.

Providers are limiting some users of their services in favor of others. Like, the porn downloader my be choked down to a certain bandwidth while the TV streamer would be given all the rest available.

What Obama wants to do is have a government agency determine who gets what. In this case it’s bandwidth. In the case of the ACA, it’s healthcare. In the case of economic policy, it’s money.

It's a buzzword that would have you believe the gov't seek to correct some imagined unfairness in the Internet as it is now.
Instead they see to impose regulations to stifle innovation and free speech.

It’s a promise that if you like your ISP you can keep your ISP.

Think of it as a utility service...water, electricity, etc...

Meaning the government gets to regulate it instead of the ISP companies...

It is a law to make the internet equal for abc, nbc, cbs, cnn, msnbc, and any other progressive broadcast or internet company who supports the Obama agenda.
It is not “fair” that Drudge can report from any and all resources without paying these resources.
The last election is a direct result of a runaway internet with all the support the Republicans get for putting out their message. If not for the internet, the Democrats would hold total power over us because theirs would be the only message we would receive.
I Ukraine, before the fall of communism, every apartment had a radio installed in their kitchen with one station to listen to...strictly the party line.
We cannot let the camel get his nose in this tent.

"Net neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers and governments should treat all data on the Internet equally, not discriminating or charging differentially by user, content, site, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or mode of communication."

Now that sounds great in theory. But in reality it's an attempt by the federal government to control the content of the web and enforce it's standards of right and wrong over content. Think PBS. Think "fairness doctrine" by the FCC before Reagan. Think of TV and radio before Rush. Think of an internet where we're taxed to death and where non-leftist or anti-leftist content is eliminated.
